White Gate Inn and Cottage - Asheville, NC

Japanese Painted Fern

While visiting in Asheville, NC, I was able to enjoy wondering through the gardens that surround the lovely White Gate Inn and Cottage.
The pathways were enticing.

Awesome containers

And you never know who you'll run into

or what creature are lurking around the corner

And lots of places to set'a'spell

With calming places to enjoy.

This was such a pretty, sophisticated garden, wasn't it? Touring it again with the help of your photos has been relaxing (and cooling)! I have the same photo, standing in front of the gazing ball. You have a good eye for textures and colors, Barbara.

Our NC PBS station has a gardening show, The Gardener's Almanac, and they were profiling this garden. I was surprised they only talked about the vines that were in the garden. WHAT?? I love the pond feature, the pathways, the various ferns and rushes around the pond--- the whole garden!! Hoping they do additional episodes with more of this little oasis in the middle of a neighborhood.
