An Easter Reminder

Thankful for this reminder that life is about what is between us and God, and God is the one who did the hard part making it possible for us to live the "anyway".
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8
"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him." I John 4:9
Blessings to you this Easter.

Chicago Flower and Garden Show

One of the highlights of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show was the opportunity to introduce my Chicago friends to LaManda Joy from the Peterson Garden Project.

There is always a way to find space to garden - gutter gardening!

Click here to read a wonderful article about what LaManda Joy has brought to Chicago by reviving the Victory Gardens.

"ABOUT PETERSON GARDEN PROJECT:
The Peterson Garden Project is a not-for-profit organization, and they are looking to inspire everyone they meet to grown their own food and community. If you love the taste of a homegrown tomato, are curious about growing food yourself, and would like to make urban gardening the norm, not the exception — then they are looking for you!"

One Late Winter's Night

On the way to Montgomery Bell State Park last weekend, a snowy rain clouded my drive.

The light, white blanket that warmed my heart the following morning:

Do I dare walk along a path untraveled?

The quiet mist and sleepy snowfall outside my window belie the world in which I have been living these last few weeks. Being blindsided for the umpteenth time by the uncertainties of life, being rushed along all that entails the fullness of life, there is refuge in this wooded quietness. Ironic that in the absence of flashy color, in the dullness of winter's dormancy, in the stillness of gray snowfall, that is where my heart is revived.

"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalms 46:10
